Equally, we understand multicultural nuances and have the sensitivity needed to bring a dispute with an overseas counterparty to a satisfactory conclusion.
Our highly experienced team regularly handle both domestic (including construction) and international arbitrations – both in the capacity of lead counsel, or as arbitrator. We have led arbitrations conducted under various institutional rules, such as the SIAC, ICC, LCIA, AIAC and Swiss Rules of Arbitration, as well as in ad hoc arbitration proceedings (including those the UNCITRAL Rules). With hubs in two of the other world leading arbitration hubs, Hong Kong and the UK, we also work closely with RPC as and when required.
We have depth and breadth of experience ranging from the enforcement of a shareholder's rights to performance shares; to a large multi-million dollar claim involving one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world. We have also represented major clients involved in arbitrations seated outside Singapore with arbitration support, such as applications for injunctions in support of foreign arbitration proceedings and the enforcement of foreign awards.
We are able to act for clients on short notice in emergency arbitration proceedings - obtaining interim relief pending the final determination of the merits of the dispute.
We always consider the possibility of commercial solutions through negotiation and mediation before going to court. Our lawyers are experienced in alternative forms of dispute resolution - one of our partners is a certified mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre.
