Employment

Our Employment team support clients with all things people related, from essential day-to-day HR support to strategic advice on restructuring and people strategy plus employment litigation of all types and in every forum. We cover the full spectrum employment matters, encompassing both contentious and non-contentious work.

Our clients include major international airlines, large multinational companies as well as locally-based clients in sectors as diverse as aviation, public relations and media, construction, logistics, manufacturing and technology. We are instructed to advise and act for clients in various non-contentious matters, such as reviewing collective agreements, advising on and drafting employee incentive schemes, advising on various issues in employment contracts such as sick leave entitlement, non-competition and non-solicitation clauses, confidentiality clauses and so on.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, we advised various clients on the re-deployment of various employees and the temporary regulation issued by the authorities to deal with the situation.

In contentious matters, we representing an employee who was unfairly dismissed as CEO of a Singapore group by its major shareholder, a large regional conglomerate in an international arbitration; advising and representing a major public relations company whose key employee was poached by its own customer; representing a European-based semiconductor-parts company whose former CEO had sued it for breach of a mutual separation agreement, and counterclaiming against him for breach of non-competition restrictions thereunder.

Our lawyers are also experienced in obtaining and executing search orders (Anton Pillar orders) in cases involving breaches of confidentiality by clients' employees.
